  1. Thank you all for your kind replies and info. Yes after 14 years or will we/ won't we, we will!!!!! im not sure how easy it's going to be.. With the changes that are coming July 1st. However we are going for it. Get the visa then decide when is best to move. I think we will have to come on a Ss visa, ideally we would love Queensland, don't think that is going to be an option for us tho. We will happily go anywhere there is a nice suberb/ family friendly/ lots of sports and good schools xxx
  2. Thanks Natalie. Im so worried about undoing the good he's done here by moving him at such a crucial time. I suppose we would have to keep our fingers crossed for them letting him drop back a year. not a bad thing i recon.........hes not sure tho lol! Thanks for the info, this is one of my main worries about going x
  3. Thank you both, sorry i didn't word that well. At the moment we are starting the visa process, we should be able to rustle up £15-20000 hopefully before we go, and poss use a credit card for absolute emergencies. This is going to have to get us there 5 of us plus dog, and start us up. Me thinks we are going to have to use credit card Hubys is a data and voice supervisor/sparky. Hoping he can get a job before we arrive (in a ideal world!) I suppose if we want it bad enough and its meant to be it will work out Thanks
  4. Thanks very much, i had a feeling it was something like that. So it would be best to move before his GCSE s or after A levels. If he were to do A levels here, would he then be able to go to Uni in Oz? Or does he have to have the aussie a level equivelent? Lorraine
  5. im just wondering if anyone has made the move and survived with a very small budget and survived? whats the lowest amount you think a family of 5 could realistically make the move on? We have no property to sell, we currently rent and what we will be taking is whatever we can save and scrape together:unsure: Lorraine
  6. Hi, could anyone give me some advice on this please?. If our plans go ahead we are hoping to be able to move by Sept 2014, this will be just after our son completes his GCSE's in May/June and before starting A levels or a college course here. From what ive understood, it would not be possible for him to then start at high school when we move over timing wise? If anyone has moved their children at this point and could explain this all to me id be very grateful, thanks Lorraine
  7. Our middle son is the one that is worried too, eldest and youngest cant wait to go. Our friends have just got back from holiday and have absolutly loved it. They are also going with their children (friends with mine) which if we are all lucky visa wise will make the move a little easier.
  8. Hey, just thought i would say hello. Hubby and me are 36, we also have 3 boys, 14,10 and 8. Been on PIO a long time but still undecided as to what we will do. If we decide to move down under would like Sunny coast xx
