Saraandlinz
We are looking to move to Brisbane at some point next year and are trying to decide what to sell and what to ship? I heard you can’t send anything wooden. We were wanting to send beds, chests of drawers and dining table all wooden - does anyone know if this is allowed?? SPRINTER
When we moved we brought all our furniture, some antique and some modern, no problems.
Parley
It might get sprayed. On shows like Border Security they seize wood items or force them to get treated. The issue is you could be bringing in insects/pests into Australia.
calNgary
It is untreated wood that seems to be frowned upon. Most everyday furniture is fine. Cal x
rammygirl
Wooden furniture will be fine…..unless it shows evidence of woodworm or has been outdoors and not cleaned properly. Even the wood inside sofas is treated in some way. They are not keen on baskets or wicker as easy for creatures to hide.
