Anyone migrated as a Law Clerk or similar?

Dear all

Has anyone already or in the process of migrating as a law clerk or similar, ie. Clerk of Court?

From my research it looks as though this occupation is on the Regional Sponsor Migration Scheme and the Employer Sponsorship route.

I would be really grateful if anyone could share their experience?

Apologies I note that the Regional Sponsor Migration scheme no longer exists so it’s just the Employer Sponsorship route.

Thanks so much for your reply. Do you happen to know how I can find out which companies offer sponsorship? I have been trawling the Internet and emailing law firms but not getting very far.

Companies don't advertise that they sponsor, because no one does it regularly.  In fact, companies avoid doing it too regularly, because it might look as though they're not even trying to find local candidates first (which they are supposed to do).   All you can do is keep looking on Seek, and try contacting recruitment agencies (don't email them because they won't bother to answer - stay up late and try phoning them, and be persistent!).   You could also try Linkedin.   

The 494 is a regional visa, so make sure you understand where in Australia you can work, and don't waste time contacting law firms which aren't in those areas.

Thanks so much that’s really helpful. I did start to think that emailing isn’t working because emails are easily ignored!! Thanks again - and for the advice re regional x
