"What would happen to our 3 children if both of us died in a taxi home on a night out?"... (for example!) Has anyone on this planned for this, albeit unlikely, but possible, scenario? Do you nominate people to step in here, or take the children back in to the country of origin. If so, I'd like to know what you planned, and how you planned it. Cal x That’s what we did when we were expats and our 3 were all in UK.. We appointed a guardian for our youngest with her older brothers also responsible for her and also money set aside for any education needs. Croft Posted October 13, 2019 Share Posted October 13, 2019 We only have one child, no family here here in Australia and our parents are getting elderly. About 5 years ago we opted, in a Will, for some close friends in the UK to look after him, but they'd want to take him back there. Now he's settled with a wide range of friends, we're going to have to re-examine our options. It could be friends here, or other relatives in the UK. Would you rather decide who looks after your child or a court decide, there’s only one answer to that question so putting it in place is a must. Not always easy as your chosen guardians need to be on board too. Sounds easy but it’s not.
