Secondary applicant in visa application

I'm not an expert, but from what I understand....

Benefits:  the primary applicant (employee) will be happier knowing their dependent is with them and on a valid visa.   There's no additional cost in the nomination that I'm aware of, and the application cost can be borne by the employee

Implications:  If the secondary applicant does a runner, the employer may be on the hook for the costs for locating the secondary applicant and having them deported (the employer already has this risk for the primary applicant).  Even if the secondary applicant doesn't do a runner, the employer can be on the hook for the costs of the flights leaving Australia when employment ends.

The main obligation for the company to a secondary applicant will be to pay for travel back to the home country, if requested by the applicant.

Have them speak with an Agent and they will realise that their obligations are minimal.

Thanks Raul
