chelseafan
Hi everyone, We are planning our move back to the UK after 20 years in Australia. Planning not to take large furniture items back, but wondering about the TV? Does an Australian Smart TV work in the UK? Worth taking? Have found this forum a big comfort at this time of a massive decision. Thanks
VERYSTORMY
Yes, the tv should work as long as it hasn't been region limited. Worst case is you can buy a new smart tv fairly cheaply. I just bought one fully internet enabled smart tv for under £200.

Really just check prices to replace items here, DFS, SCS, IKEA, Benson beds, Dreams, Feather and Black,Currys PC World, difficulty with bringing things back is the delay on delivery
unzippy
FWIW, the 3 month old telly I took the Aus was geo limited. The only "smart" function that worked was youtube. It worked fine in terms of picking up tv stations. I'd expect it to be the same the other way round with new Aus tellys going to the UK. In terms of getting the smart functionality back, a chromecast, roku, firestick, apple tv etc will do the job/
Bumblebee
I've taken back what I could for ease and also I know I'll have no money now I'm here. I'm living with family for a few years so didn't bring any big furniture but figured the cost of replacing all the little things like kitchen stuff etc really adds up so shipped as much as I could. Good luck with the move. I've just arrived back
chelseafan
Thanks for the replies. Been having a huge declutter but will do a second one nearer the move. 187 days to go!
Alexandrina Maciver
Smart tv works fine
Captain_Tor
I'd sell your TV there and save on the shipping costs & hassle...you can buy a Smart TV here fairly reasonably. Perhaps bring back a lifetime supply of Espresso Martini Tim Tams? Us Oz wannabe's would pay good kudos for them on the black market
