This from afar, though, down South in Melbourne. Wouldn't mind being there right now as a matter of fact, it is freezing and pouring rain down here! Good luck! Bobj Posted November 23, 2018 Share Posted November 23, 2018 It has been over 30 years since I last ventured over to Cairns, but as I see it Mackay is a smaller version, just as humid but not quite the temperatures and Mackay has more beaches. There's more industrial-type jobs in Mackay, and like Bobj says, more beaches. Rental situation is getting a bit tight at the moment as there are some large construction projects going on.
