Jupiter
Hi everyone. Here is a summary of my points. Age: 26 (30 Points) PTE: Over 80 in each module (20 Points) Bachelor degree from a top university (15 Points) Nomination by a state or territory government, in case of 489 visas (10 Points) As you can see, I can get 65 - 75 points easily. However, I don't have skilled employment as I am a fresh graduate. Is skilled employment a must or will my points be enough?
cheese n pickle
What job code are you applying under? for the 189 and 489 the website states "have a relevant occupation" and "suitable skills assessment of a qualification" so going off that info I would say yes skilled employment is a must. I think there are a couple of occupations that don't require post qualification experience but not sure what they are. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be along soon. wrussell
Work experience is not in general required for skilled migration. For skilled migration in most occupations work experience is required obtain the mandatory pre-migration skills assessment. Engineers can sometimes obtain a skills assessment without work experience and accountants can, but an accountant with out work experience would be doomed. Jupiter
I'm not sure about the exact job code but it will be something under the ACS (Australian Computer Society) like Software Engineer, Developer, Programmer, etc. I studied Bachelor of Science in Information Technology which is about ICT, Computer Science and Software Engineering. Have you looked at your occupation to see what it requires in order to qualify?
jonnyah2006
I believe all ACS occupations require a minimum of two years of work experience in order to be considered qualified. http://www.acs.org.au/msa/skills-assessment-guidelines-for-applicants.html
