Job search - seek.com.au is a good start

Travelling - just search SA public transport

Price of car - carsales.com.au is a good place to start to give you an idea

Rent - domain.com.au, realestate.com.au

Insurance - comparethemarket.com.au, iselect.com.au is a good start. If you want information on health insurance, you can speak to me as I work in the industry

Hope this helps

Most insurance jobs are in Melbourne or Sydney.

Suncorp is in Brisbane but otherwise, all the head offices are in Sydney or Melbourne. When you say you're a general insurance specialist, what do you mean exactly?

I worked for SunCorp in Brisbane and there is a big presence there. SunCorp and other brand insurance companies (such as AAMI) in the group operate from there.

Yes, that's what I said.  SunCorp (including its subsidiary companies) has its head office in Brisbane but all the other insurance companies are based in Sydney or Melbourne.

SunCorp also has insurance offices in Sydney although it is a much smaller operation. They inherited offices from the acquisition of other companies such as Promina. I'm a bit out of touch with it so they might be phasing people out at these offices.

Last time I looked, SunCorp's offices in Sydney were still pretty sizeable.  But there are plenty of other insurance offices in Sydney anyway.

For Adelaide have a look at our sister forum www.pomsinadelaide.com there are lots of people who live in Adelaide on there.
