I just wanted to find out more about the likelihood of relocations in Australia every 2-4 years and the length of deployments. Would appreciate any information anyone has on this. Marisawright Posted March 11, 2018 Share Posted March 11, 2018 I've known two women with husbands in the navy. They lived in Sydney all the time I knew them (15 years or so). The only other fleet base is Perth, I think - all the other bases are training facilities. I dated a navy guy and he was based in Nowra but that was the navy air base (he was a helicopter mechanic). I know from looking at other forums that the process is quite lengthy, about 2 years. It would be good to hear from others that have made the move over recently.
