But unfortunately, still don't think melbourne is the place for me and my family....although work might make it so.......as its soooo much better than sydney.....just my opinion folks..... Petals Posted June 23, 2008 Share Posted June 23, 2008 Having lived here for a long long time now I thing the city has more of an asian theme these days, most eateries in the city area are Thai, Chinese, Japanese and you have to go South Bank, Carlton or further afield for other cuisine. Each waive of migration takes over the city and then moves on to other areas. There is a web site you can have a look at the different areas to give an idea of what they are like. Guest The Pom Queen Posted June 24, 2008 Share Posted June 24, 2008 I just think it shows how beautiful Melbourne is, yes you have the good parts and the bad parts but then so does everywhere. It really annoys me when people knock a state or a suburb and they have never lived there. I think people need to take all the information on these boards with a pinch of salt and choose for themselves. Personally I would rather be in Australia than the UK and I don't mind which state, suburb I live in as none can be as bad as some of the ones back home.
