Hi all, just registering my timeline here to help track, been very useful to watch the progress and want to add me own (belatedly, but better late than never!)

Nomination and Visa application on the 17th May 2016

I can't put it in the spreadsheet as my company locks access - sorry!

I'm hoping to get something before Christmas, that would be the best present!

Sounds like a technical glitch on their website. I'd either a) try another web browser to see if that makes a difference, b) wait a day or two to see if the issue corrects itself, or c) contact the DIBP technical support to report the problem.

Hi

They have requested continuation of employment, work contract and Organisational Structure. These were all sent with original nomination however as we have crossed in to a new financial year they are requesting again.

Thanks for your reply

Have you also submitted new PAYG for the year 30th June 2016??

I only submitted for 2013-14 and 2014-15

HELP! When I rang IMMI, they said they couldn't disclose info relating to my nomination (08/Apr), but that VISA app hadn't been allocated yet.

Employer's agent advised that since we lodged around the same time, visa will likely be picked up by the same CO. So are NOM and VISA applications normally allocated to separate COs?

I'm hoping NOMI has already been picked up and visa will be processed by the same CO..AND that they didn't disclose since I'm not "authorised" - Is this wishful thinking on my part??

Izzielizie, Once the nomination has allocated a CO, Visa will not be far away. They have to sort out the nomination first.

I think you will receive it in this week!! fingers crossed for you!!!

CONGRATS @JessApri8, how wonderful! Thank you - I pray the universe hears and heeds your words.

We don't know if our NOMI has been picked up yet - employer's agent says they are discouraged from chasing IMMI regarding this - but most of the 08-Apr NOMIs seem to have been asked for documents or approved already. :frown: Hopefully our PR comes soon.....

thanks mahenderntpc. we need to be careful with this info and qualify exactly what it means. eg: how does it affect those in our situation already deep in the process of applying for PERMANENT residency ..... and how does it impact others applying for TEMPORARY, short-stay visas.

i could only find an article online relating to changes to short-term visa changes. see the link below. but let us know what your source is if available in the public domain.

one possible nett result is this - if the process for TEMPORARY visas is in fact going to be simpler then the department would theorteically have more resource to dedicate to the processing of PERMANENT residency applications.

many thx.

I was just about to post the same thing, that's all I could find regarding immigration changes. Only conclusion that's positive for people in our situation is more people being available to do other visas like ours. Fingers crossed!
