Charingx1
Hi just joined the site. I have been told my multiple immigration agents that I would qualify for a 190 visa to south Australia based on the fact I can accrue 80 points and have an occupation on the supplementary skills list. First off has anyone else gone down this route and been successful ? Â Secondly my son has mild right sided hemiplegia. What this means is he has a weakness in his right hand. He goes to normal school has no medication and no surgical interventions. He has a physio update every six months where we are given exercises to strengthen his right hand. Â I'm wondering if anyone has experience of passing or failing medical with a disability? I've searched the forums and u fortunately most of the posts are quite old and the members who had success are not contactable. I am obtaining professional advice but just wanted to talk it through on here! Â Thanks!

Charingx1
80 points ? Is that even possible ? Are you sure you have calculated properly? Â Hi yes I get the following :- Â 25 points for age 32-39 20 points for superior english 15 points for 8 years work experience in Uk 15 points for my Uk degree 5 points for state nomination
Quoll
George Lombard or Peter Bollard are the two usually mentioned when questioning visa applications where disabilities are involved but in very general terms of a disability does not attract potential resources through in school support, extensive therapies or costly surgery then you are more likely to get a visa. ABG
I don't have any experience in it, but based on things I've read whilst doing my visa application there is an equation that DIBP apply for healthcare costs. If any preexisting medical condition will cost more than AU$40k over 5 years (for PR visa), then there is grounds for refusal. If it's a permanent condition, they might make the calculation over a longer period of time. If treatment requires scarce resources (e.g. dialysis) then there are also grounds for refusal. But I think it is not as black and white as that. Arguments can be made in mitigation, and your doctors and specialists can give reports in support. Best thing is to contact an expert for their advice though   Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My husband got SA sponsorship under that programme in September 2016 (he accrued 85 points in total w/ the state`s 5 points) and we applied for Visa early in November last year, frontloaded all docs required, including character checks, medicals, etc. However, since then it`s total radio silence. Our 190 visa application has got the status Received in the immiaccount. And that is. No progress since then. No contact by case officer, no info on case officer allocation.... Have you applied for SA`s sponsorship?
