Dawnlouise
I have been in Australia for a year on a 457 Visa which I paid for myself. Where I work is a place that has a consistent turn over of staff for various reasons. What I would like to ask is. A...can I look for other employment s long as they are willing to take over my sponsorship. B...Will it effect applying for a PR I'm the future. Thank you. I look forward to your reply. xxlornaxx
Yes you can, if you find another employer that will take over sponsorship, it just gets transferred to them, I did this
Liam13
I could be wrong but I believe you will lose the year you have already done and will have to start from scratch
Dawnlouise
Yes that's what I thought. I'm unsure whether to stick another year out and get my PR or move. Someone mentioned your employer has to put you forward for your PR too. Which if this is so my current one won't do it I am sure of it. It can I put myself forward for it with out their help? VERYSTORMY
If you qualify for an independent skilled visa, you can do it any time you want - the majority of migrants have never stepped foot in Australia before getting PR.
MaggieMay24
You can also apply for the 186 under the Direct Entry stream if you meet the criteria and the employer is willing and able to sponsor you.
Dawnlouise
I am a stylist so I don't think I can go under independent skilled. But I am afraid my current employer will be willing. It may be the best thing to search for a new sponsor and start again from scratch. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
