Omar Wehbe Posted March 16, 2016 Author Share Posted March 16, 2016 No. Well, can a person go to Australia on a tourist visa, do some job hunting, find an employer who is willing to sponser him and then apply to a work visa either while still in Australia or leave Australia and apply from own country? And if there is any indication that that is what you might be doing they would turn you round at the border and you could be banned for several years. So do not arrive at immigration on a tourist visa with hardcopy CV, job references, education certificates or correspondance from prospective employers given as said if subject to a detailed inspection any of these could be grounds for cancelling the tourist visa and worst case an exclusion. amibovered Posted March 16, 2016 Share Posted March 16, 2016 OK, so if immigration get wind of the fact you are looking for a job you'll get kicked out, you might not even get out of the airport, good luck with getting a visa after that, and then why an earth would any employer offer a job to someone who doesn't have the right to live in Australia, when there are hundreds and hundreds of thousands of unemployed already in Australia Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you have the funding and time make a visit as a tourist as too many people have a vision of the country as their dream destination and whilst a holiday is not same as living there it would at least give you a flavour whether it could be right for you.
