aneltia
Hi...does anyone know an estimated/rough cost of a notary. Needed to certify my documents. Any advice would be grateful
stevej
I rang around locally listed notaries and cost was extortionate like £150 fir first 10 documents then £50 for each additional 5. I am looking at using a justice of the peace instead.
Diane
Are you in Australia or the UK? If Australia, ask at your local library when they have a JP in - they will certify your documents free of charge.

rammygirl
Depends what you need them certifying for. Unless it specifically states a notary, for some assessment bodies it might. A solicitor is usually cheaper, if you do all the copying that will also help keep the cost down. For on line visa applications to immigration a colour scan is acceptable nowadays, no need to certify.
CiderDrinkingCoder
DIBP (and the ACS) will accept certified copies done at the Post Office (yes, here in the UK!). If they don't... I really don't want them reading this thread and reviewing my 189 grant  Post Office will do 3 documents for about a tenner.
caramac
Yes, it depends whats you need them for. Most immigration stuff can be done by a magistrate/JP, but my husband's professional documents had to be stamped and signed by a notary. Best to make sure before you get someone other than a notary to do them, or you may end up paying twice.
