Perth Suburbs

Hi everyone!

Looking for opinions on the following suburbs:

Hamilton Hill

Melville

Spearwood

Brentwood

Coogee

We are currently setting up rental viewings in these areas so any info or advice would be great!

Thank you!

There are some feral parts, so have a good look around. Avoid anything obviously dodgy, like graphiti, tyre marks on the roads

We lived in Hammy Hill and loved it there, short walk to South Beach and the cafe strip on South Street and a great cycle ride to Fremantle along the coast path (or even a walk it was about 5km)

The rule of thumb is West of Carrington Street is good, East not so.

Spearwood is not so good - a perfectly safe and decent suburb but that bit further away from the coast and Fremantle, public transport stops pretty early too.

Coogee is further away again from Fremantle but is on the coast - the new marina part is stunning but the blocks are small and the houses pricey. Somewhere in the older part of the suburb but walking distance from the marina would probably be better.

Melville I don't know so well, further inland so you would benefit less from the Fremantle Dr (the lovely breeze that makes the summer more bearable). probably slightly more upmarket than Hamilton Hill/Spearwood/older parts Coogee. A bit souless though.

Personally I would say the nearer to the coast and the nearer to Fremantle you can afford to live the better lifestyle you will have but nowhere around Bibra Lake is to be avoided & the newish suburbs in Cockburn offer some great value if you don't mind being a bit further out - places like Beeliar, Success and slightly further out you can get some great large blocks at places like Yangebup.

Or further inland but closer to the city places like Canning Vale, Leeming, Willeton.

Sorry probably not helping as I am widening your options but really there are lots of decent and more affordable places to live around Bibra Lake.

Hey if you had to judge a suburb by the tyre marks on the road there,d be nowhere to live lol. (a great aussi pastime which also includes parking your vehicle in someones front room lol
