Electrical equipment from Au to UK

Is it worthtaking electrical equipment to the UK from Oz? Is it easy to change the plugs, or is it better to bring some strip plugs and a coupleof adaptors?

We did both. We brought all of our electrical equipment the other way (ie from UK to Oz) and progressively changed the UK plugs to Oz plugs. As an interim measure we had UK power packs and used adapters or put an Oz plug on the power pack.

Don't bother taking TVs back to the UK as they won't work there.

We took pretty much everything except large whitegoods, as regards adaptors/plugs, we also did both. Our Samsung Led works fine with UK freesat, but can't vouch for other Tv's, I've changed over 20 plugs in the last month....yaawn.... loads of Lamps, Dyson x2, Mixer, toaster, microwave, but we left the Kids Ps3/Wii and TV along with TV Hard Drive on the aussie plugs and just use a x6 surge protected aud board with a UK plug, all our usb chargers for tablets are on adaptors, but the aud powerboard has x2 usb ports for charging.

You can change plugs on all electrics and it all works fine, better to change plugs than use adaptors as they are only meant for temporary use with lighter load appliances which do not require earthing, tv's will work with a set top box or if they are used with sky or virgin so do take them as you get nothing for them second hand

How easy is it to change the Aussie plugs? They are all molded aren't they? They are nothing like the UK ones with fuses etc?

If you are not confident of changing them yourself, find an oddjob man, an electrician will charge a lot, and get all the replacement plugs you need from a DIY store and also 2 or 3 packs each of 3 and 5 amp fuses for lights and low consumption items and get him to do them all at one go, should take about 7/10 minutes per appliance,

I found Screwfix the cheapest for the plugs and fuses
