Hi Everyone, anxiously awaiting their 189 visa grant. Can I just ask a simple question as I am close to submitting the remaining evidence. My de facto partner doesn't need to sit an IELTS test does he? Someone has told me different, but I am certain that I read that he can upload a British Passport and/or school certificates/degree to prove competent english.

Thanks

That's correct, as long as he holds a British passport then there is no requirement to do the IELTS.

When it comes to the upload page for your de facto partner, upload an additional copy of his passport even though a passport copy is asked for in another section

Hello Captain C. Where I can check for my visa status if I have an agent?

Hello Captain C. Where I can check for my visa status if I have an agent?

You'll need to open an immiaccount and request your TRN (Transaction Reference Number) from your agent.

Or, just ask your agent. Remember who is paying the bills, so don't worry about calling them to ask.

I have the TRN number and I checked here

https://online.immi.gov.au/evo/firstParty.

Besides that I called him and he said " it is a matter of time two months ago".

You won't find out anything on vevo if you haven't been granted yet. The immiaccount is here > https://www.border.gov.au/immiaccount

Thanks

If I get an account, I am going to have any problem with my agent or DIBP? I ask you that because when I check there is the following information

There are two types of ImmiAccount:

  • Individual/private user: for individual applicants, a family member or friend to apply for a visa or citizenship

  • Organisation: for organisations and agents applying for visa or citizenship or checking visa entitlements on behalf of others

And I believe my agent have one on behalf of me.

No, don't worry about that. Your agent has a specialised account that he/she manages all of their clients applications on the same account.

Have to talk to my agent about the immi account? If the answer is yes, what I need from him?

Thanks.

Ask your agent for your TRN.

With that you can open an individual immiaccount.

I have my Visa. I had to wait 25 weeks and 4 days. My agent told me that the new time to get the visa is between 6-9 months.

I am happy.

Just received grant notification.

Lodged 22 June; last info provide to case officer 10 August; grant 31 October; great relief to have the process over.

Thanks especially to the Captain for the information you've posted.

Peter

Congrats Peter. I am still waiting for mine...no updates as of now :(

Hi, we have opened an immi account and have our TRN number form our agent. Do we use the import application option to view it? and if we do will it move from our agents account to ours or do we just get to view it and nothing more. We are afraid of causing any problems with the process by interfering but we are not getting much feed back from our agent and we are almost 4 months on from submitting it. We were allocated a case officer September 9th.

Thanks
