Smithy
Hi there. Are there any teachers on here who could offer some advice on obtaining a visa. I am currently in Perth, and my daughter who is in the UK is thinking of joining us. She teaches English in high school, and has done for 6+ years. Would she get a sponsor do you think? Or would she have to go it alone? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
VERYSTORMY
It is very rare for teachers to be sponsored. She would be better looking at the skilled route
Bungo
Agree. Sponsorship is very unlikely. The good news is that it is not the best route anyway, going independently generally means a far better quality of visa.
benj1980
The reality is, why would you sponsor a teacher from the UK when you haven't seen them teach? Very risky, although has happened. Perhaps then you have to question why they were happy to sponsor an English teacher without seeing them teach!
scattley
That option is there (sponsoring teachers) for when a teacher comes on a WHV and works as a casual in a school, usually in the rural region, and the school then wishes to sponsor them. Smithy
Would she have to transfer her qualifications over to oz equivalent?
