hefbat
Hi all, relocating in May and looking for short-term accommodation while we wait for our stuff to arrive. Need to find a place with no internal stairs (ours love a good climb) access to internet, and with a second bedroom that can fit two cots. Anyone have any tips on how to find something affordable, the websites we've looked at are more aimed a one-week vacationers than parents like us! Cheers Mike
Freckleface
What is your idea of affordable?
hefbat
Good question. Found places on Airbnb for $2-3k a month that suited budget, no idea if this is realistic price outside Airbnb or gumtree ads, everything else involving companies seems much higher
Quoll
Try http://www.allhomes.com.au/ah/act/rent-residential/advanced-search/view?regionid=391 There used to be a nice little cottage in Ainslie which might have done the trick but it doesnt seem to be listed on there any more. Another site I used to use was http://www.stayz.com.au You might have to get your own dongle for the internet
Slean Wolfhead
http://www.canberrafurnished.com.au/ You could try these people for furnished accommodation. Prices are high on here, but tell them your requirements and they may have something suitable at a decent price if you're staying a month or two. It does make a difference having a washing machine and a few mod cons when you touch down, especially with kids in tow and lots to do. Inner North, Braddon and the city is expensive, but assuming you get a car then somewhere a little further up the road like Lyneham or Dickson is no bother and a bit cheaper.
