Vikki81
Hi all hope you had a good Christmas . I was wondering if there was any way for a person who does not hold an eligible passport on the list for 'working holiday 417' and 'work and holiday 462' visas to get a temporary visa to work and holiday in Australia other than the 457 visa. I have a few friends from Somalia who want to come on a short holiday to Australia - but also want to work while they stay here. Can you apply for work rights with a visitor visa ? Thank you Vikki
MaggieMay24
No, you can't get work rights on a visitor visa. They'd need to apply for a working visa such as a 457, 189, etc.
scattley
There is no other visa available for your friends. Their country is not one we have a relationship with so they can only come here on the more formal visas.
Suzukiscottie
Probably best for them just to have a nice HOLIDAY ! :-)
