  1. My parents are planning to visit Australia from a non RHCA country. We applied for a visitor visa for both and my mother just received her visa but my father has diabetes and was told he needs to have a medical examination. What is the examination for? Can he be rejected because he has diabetes ? Is there a way I can take all responsibility for him financially to come? Thank you in advance
  2. Hi everyone, I am so confused about the 457 training benchmark. I understand training benchmark A - payment into a training fund. But B is not so straightforward. Example Scenario A company has three employees (two PR and one TEMP) and pays them each $50,000. The employees were trained on the job with a senior member showing them how to do the role. How would you relate this to benchmark B? So 1% of payroll for two PR workers who get $50,000 each will be $1000. How can the company prove that $1000 was spent on training on the site? Do they just say the senior member spend x amount of hours training the new employees and that equals $1000? I hope my question is making sense.
  3. Hi all, So Im going through the DIBP document checklist for assessment level 3 for a student visa. On the Financial documents section it has two subsections. The first is evidence of funds (I understand what this is for, i.e - loan from bank for tuition, living, and travel fees). But the next heading says "evidence of income" - this is where I'm a bit confused. The course is a 50 week ELICOS course. What is the evidence of income used for exactly? Would the loan document used for the above evidence of funds section be sufficient for this section as well?
  4. Hi All, Im just researching the 402 visa and its probably the most confusing one I've seen. Can someone explain in plain English what the occupational training is for. Is the occupation stream basically for those that have an occupation in the CSOL that want further training/ experience in a company. 1. Can the visa applicant be paid by the trainer / sponsoring business - Eg - like a work based relationship 2. Are there any English requirements for this stream? 3. Is there a skills assessment for these occupations - how do you know what experience / study qualifications you need to qualify for the visa - for example would you look it up by ANSZCO description? In reality - is it similar to a 457 visa - (without the opportunity for PR and a shorter length)
  5. thank you for the detailed post!!!
  6. hi all I was just wondering if there were any occupations for a 457 visa that had english requirement exemptions _ i know that for a chef and diplomats / religious figures there is no english requirement but are there any other occupations ?
  7. My friend applied for a regional sponsored visa (i think it was 857) but the application refused. She then went to the review tribunal and they found in her favour. Back then there was no English requirement but the current 187 (Regional Sponsored visa) requires 6.0 For direct entry. My question is this: will she get granted the visa based on when she submitted it ? Does she need to have 6.0 English. ?
  8. Hi all, Sorry for the constant posts. Im also posting for a couple of people who do not have internet access. My question this time was in relation to student visas and financial requirements. I know students are required to be able to provide proof of living costs, tuition fees and travel costs however do they have to provide this proof only for the first year of their stay or for all the duration of stay. I have a friend who has applied to a couple of unis in Australia and is planning to bring his family. Would he need to provide requirements for all his family members for three years of study? Also if he is accepted for streamlined visa processing will his application be processed as the same time as his families? Ive also had an agent tell me that Even if my friends family does not accompany him to Australia, he will still need to provide evidence that he has the financial ability to support them here. Is this true?
  9. Thank you so much for your response!! clears up a lot of questions I had about sponsorship
  10. Also with training benchmark A. Is it 2% of ALL employees payroll for the financial year - or is it 2% of just the sponsored employees payroll?
  11. Hi everyone, I understand that a SBS lasts about 3 years. I had two questions about sponsorship and nomination for a 457 visa. 1. In this 3 years if a new position comes up in the organisation does a company just need to submit only a nomination form or apply for a new sbs altogether? 2. After the three years how do you renew the sponsorship. Is it just the same as how you registered initially or is there a different form for continuing sponsors? thank you
  12. Please Excuse my excessive posts again - I had another question but this time in regards to Partner visas. If a couple have recently gotten married (for example an Aus citizen goes overseas meets a girl, she comes to aus on a tourist visa - they get married) how are they supposed to apply for a partner visa if they cannot prove shared financial aspects or social aspects of the relationship (other than a wedding). Would the best option be to spend time together on a further tourist visa in order to build up evidence of such aspects of the marriage
  13. Hi all, I was researching student visas ( for a friend - AL3) and going through the document checklist there's an evidence of income section. What if the applicant is currently not working? I understand that evidence of funds is required for living costs, travel costs and tuition fees (applicant is proving this with savings) - but what is Income for exactly?
  14. Also, Lets say 8534 was imposed - can it be waived if applying for general skilled migration. if yes should a waiver be submitted with the application, or before the application
