Robwilliams1983
I have tried searching for these answers but no luck. during my apprenticeship i worked over 20 hours which was paid. can i claim this as work experience? Or does only experience after apprenticeship count? also i now work as an estimator and health & safety officer still within construction, would this count as related work experience? thanks for your help. VERYSTORMY
No. Only post qualifacation work is counted. It is difficult to say if your current job is closely related.
Ozmaniac
AFAIK, for work experience to be considered to be 'closely related' to your nominated occupation, the work must be in an occupation in the same ANZSCO unit group i.e. its ANZSCO code must begin with the same 4 digits. You should check with a good RMA to make sure that will be the case with your experience. http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/Product+Lookup/1220.0~2006~Chapter~UNIT+GROUP+3312+Carpenters+and+Joiners Unit Group 3312 Carpenters and Joiners
