vikkeytymo
Hi Everyone. I am currently looking at going to an expo and I'm wondering if anybody knows which is the best one to attend. There is Down Under Live and Working International. Would they both be the same? Our trades are Chef and Hairdresser if that makes a difference. Thanks Vikkey x
fifi69
Never been to one but there are quite a few threads on them. not really favourable threads though. Just looked at your signature...well your both in jobs that Perth needs. Your OH a chef...he would be snapped up in no time. see your not coming for a few years though, are you doing the visa yourselfs?
vikkeytymo
Hi Fifi69. Thank you for your reply. So are the treads negative towards the expo's? Both our occupations are needed yes, my husband now more so, with it being on the SOL now. We just wanted advise really as we are currently working towards our 3 years experience to qualify for the visa, though my husband would need employer sponsorship I would think as he will be 45 with only the 3 years work experience, where as I will be 35, though my problem is whether or not it will be on the list come the time as it has already come off WA and NSW. I'm not sure whether to go it alone or through an agent yet.............just want advise from a specialist, thats why I'm looking at the expo. Thanks Vikkey x
M1cha3la
We have been to both, Down Under Live was last weekend and the other one this time last year. We found Working International to be the better of the two and it seemed to have better agencies, Hays ect were there. D U L only seemed to have people selling recruitment packages, ie pay them to look for you. It was also mainly geared up for nurses and construction work, so didn't really work for us. Both had the banks, moving firms and similar agents there though and tickets are only like £10 so worth popping in both if you can. Edit, I should probably add, we have found out far more information via PIO than at either expo. There are some very good agents that post on here that you wouldn't go far wrong with. Guest51810
Working international was the one we went to twice. Seems good for some construction people and also healthcare workers
srg73
Mmmm, we went to a couple a couple of years ago and tended to walk out afterwards thinking why did we bother. Full of agents, some not very good, agents wanting construction and healthcare only, Im a chartered project manager in construction....no use for me and my wife Snr pharmacy tech for nhs....no use! They simply want trades and nurses. The good people on the board will provide you much more information than any sales show and it will be taylored to your needs. Treat the show as a day out, take information gathered with a pinch of salt and a sales show and enjoy. S
