spursboytim
Hi All I came here 6 years ago and i am still loving it. I decided to take the plunge and apply for citizenship. I applied in March took the test in April and two weeks later received my letter of acceptance. after waiting 3 months i rang DIAC to find out when i would be having my ceremony and the nice man told me i was on the list for 17th September (national citizenship day) at Tea Tree Gully, and i would get my invitation letter about two weeks before the 17th. Im sooooooooo excited now, i know this sounds silly but i dont know what to wear my Aussie Partner says casual is the way to go but im leaning towards being suited and booted as it is a formal occasion, so any advice anyone could give would be greatly appreciated. Pumpkin
I don't know that I would put a full business suit on, but nothing wrong with smart chinos and a jacket or blazer. Interesting that you rang DIAC, I thought this was in the local councils hands now, is that not the case?
akiralx
I will be wearing smart casual - when Geelong Council finally get in touch, been 3 months since acceptance so shouldn't be too long I suppose.
VERYSTORMY
We were smart casual for ours - trousers and a shirt. We were over dressed based on the majority. There were a number that had simply come straight from the beach - shorts, t-shirt and thongs.
