nurrish
Hi all, Currently I am working on a BHP mine in the pilbra, WA. I am ready to submit my 186 ENS decision ready application on monday as agreed with my Migration agent. I work for an IT company contracted by BHP however changes are happening in the next few months which could lead to a company change/being taken in house by BHP. My question is, if this happens in the next couple of months what options are available to me? Most probably I can stay with my current company but posted back down to Perth. Obviously being taken on by BHP will be a dream come true but i dont wont to risk my application as ive already spent $9k + on it Any advice appreciated
Alaska
The best person to ask I would think would be your Migration Agent as they should have that information. That is assuming you have a decent agent, of course! (We didn't and this forum was much more helpful!)

BHP might not want to continue with the sponsorship, they presumably are purchasing the IT company because they believe there are some synergies, which might include already having the skills they need. If you are worried, perhaps consider an alternative, like skilled migration, then it won't matter what happens with the companies.
MaggieMay24
I agree that your migration should be able to give you the best guidance. While it's certainly possible it could put your application at risk, it's possible your application would be approved before any changes were implemented. By the way, the "Decision Ready" process was eliminated by DIBP last December, so your application would simply go into the queue with other applications. blossom
Agreed. Decision ready doesn't exist any more. Your agent should be able to advise you on this. A lot comes down to if the Abn number changes I think.
nurrish
Ah I see thanks for the information. Guess I will just have to wait my turn in the queue. But my visa will be lodged with all the required documents and forms so one would think it would progress quicker.. Also i am a sole applicant so theres probably nothing to worry about as theres no anticipated change before the end of the year as we now know.
