820 Partner Visa - Can my partner apply to be a sponsor before i lodge visa

Hey guys, with the 820 Partner Visa - Can my partner apply to be a sponsor before i lodge the visa? or do i just do it all at the same time

 

Also, i am going around in circles on the immi web page, I believe me and my partner both have to write statutory declarations about our relationship, where is this specific form?

No - it all goes in the same package.

You send all the forms at the same time. As you can apply online now, I assume the forms are available when you select Apply Now. I also found them under the Visa Applicant tab, under Document checklist for applicants: https://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/801-820.aspx

 

For stat decs, templates are available for download on this page: http://www.ag.gov.au/publications/pages/statutorydeclarations.aspx

 

Have you seen the Partner booklet? It's quite long but very useful as it steps you through everything you need to know and do in regard to lodging a partner visa: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1127.pdf

This. Big thumbs up from me.

 

Get the partner visa migration booklet. Print it off, read it, read it again, make notes. Get your partner to read and understand it too.

 

Then work through the application together. It really is pretty straightforward once you read the booklet. Need to get stat decs from 2 people (these are set forms they have to fill in, get witnessed etc), write your own supporting statements (these are not stat decs and can be written by hand or typed on plain paper) submit your supporting evidence and required paperwork etc.
