Guest The Pom Queen
One of our members has just received a spam link saying its a pomsinoz survey. We have not created any surveys nor do we have pop ups or allow 3rd parties access to your emails. So if you receive anything like this please delete. Cerberus1
Just to add to this, it appears the member has inadvertently ended up with a malicious browser extension installed on his PC which is directing him to "2014websurvey.com" It looks like the malware will create fake surveys themed around whatever site you're visiting. Just to reiterate, the forum does not use any form of popup / popunder advertising whatsoever. If you receive any strange popups etc, then it is almost certain that your PC has some form of malware on it. There are many malware removal tools on the internet A good place to start is: https://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.trojanhunter.com/ http://www.lavasoft.com/ who will all have free or trial versions available. Tappers2oz
Will malware impact iPads or phones? You can get malware on phones and iPads. The androids (especially windows based) are more at risk but as with most apple products they are pretty secure. I need to find an app/programme to run on my iphone but not got round to it yet. abz123
but as with most apple products they are pretty secure It's more a case of the low user base of iOS that protects apple users i.e. these people will go after the masses using Windows than the "niche market" Apple users when creating malware 80:20 rule. Cerberus1
Will malware impact iPads or phones? Negligible chance on a standard ipad/iphone, if the ipad/iphone is jailbroken, then it leaves them more susceptible to malware.
