Goingbacktouk
Hi everyone! I've booked a MoveCube for March... I have a computer that I'm putting in it, how do I proved I've owned it for more than 6 months? (I'm not sure where the receipt is). I've actually owned it for four years, so not sure if there's a way around this! Thanks!
abz123
Did you buy it from one of the big chains? I know Harvey Norman can pull previous purchase details from their system based on the phone number you gave at the time or at least that's what they told me so maybe other stores can too. jen85
Proof can also be by way of photo if you have a photo dated from then with it in or the computers system should also say plus any warranty or antivirus you have registered previously. That's all proof.
Goingbacktouk
I actually bought it in the UK, just before I came over to Australia, but I might contact Currys and see if they have it on their system. The photos thing is a good idea! I've got a lot on here, so I could just take screenshots I guess! Thanks for the suggestions!
Penelope Pitstop
Maybe not so convenient but surely if you switched the computer on and then looked at the date created against any files/documents or date installed for programs, that would prove that you had had it for a long time. LouDYorkie
They would be able to tell by the model number. With PC's, models are released so quickly it's unlikely yours looks like or has the same model number as more currently available machines if it's 4 years old. I'd only worry about items that are described as a "2014 release" or "2013 release" or something that looks completely unused or is still boxed
Conniebygaslight
Hi, not sure if this is relevant but when we returned to UK we didn't have to prove how long we'd had anything...it was a much simpler process than when we shipped stuff to Oz. Peach
Proof can also be by way of photo if you have a photo dated from then with it in or the computers system should also say plus any warranty or antivirus you have registered previously. That's all proof. The date on a camera or file stamp proves nothing, it is trivial to change either..
