457 Visa - Requiring a little bit of info

Hi,

I'm moving from the UK in 18 days to Sydney and I have been offered a sponsorship from a company.

I'm just wondering do both the company and I have to lodge applications or is it just the company?

Also to start off with I'm going to apply for a 417 Visa Working Holiday Visa in the next couple of days as there will not be enough time for the 457 Visa to fully complete but will I be able to upgrade to the 457 Visa from a 417 Visa?

If anyone has the answers to either of these questions then it would be greatly appreciated if you could reply.

Thanks,

Denver

Thanks for replying guys.

The reason I've not applied for the sponsor visa just yet is because I'm waiting for an actual offer from the company but seeing as it's been the Christmas break I've not had anything yet.

I am a web developer so I'm not sure if you know if that is on the list or not?

I'm going to apply for my 417 Visa tomorrow as I think it normally takes a couple of days to process.

It's quite common for an applicant to begin working for a company on the 417 visa and then apply for a 457 later on down the line. The 457 is a 3 stage process involving a company Standard Business Sponsorship application (if they don't hold one), the nomination and then your 457 visa application.

All the best,
