Guest
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-25163045 Just woke up to this shocking news, feeling cold. I was at a gig at the Cathouse last night, which is close by and we would have been walking back to the car park at this time, we heard a lot of sirens but this was Glasgow on a Friday night and we'd side-stepped a bit of trouble outside McDonalds so didn't think anything of it. It makes you think, you never know what fate/god/bad luck/random chance (whatever it is you believe) will throw at you. Those people out enjoying the band playing there would have been filled with the same happy, carefree feelings I was just minutes before a couple of blocks away. There are so many people on PIO searching for something else, live every moment guys wherever you are.
WeegieDave
Been in that pub many times. Life is fragile.
Guest51810
Its so sad, just shows you that you never know what's round the corner. Nobody would expect to go on a nightout and for that to happen. I'm really glad that a lot of people helped out, there could of been a lot more injuries
Quoll
Terrible tragedy! Hope the carnage is less than might be imagined from such an impact.
noworriesmate
It's next door to my office on Stockwell St, Apparently (and obviously) we aren't able to open today. It's a total tragedy but amazing how the people of Glasgow come together when things like this happen. NWM
WeegieDave
Of all the buildings it could have hit it hit the oldest and busiest in that vicinity. 100 metres to the right and it would have landed in the river.
Guest guest30085
This is so tragic, I heard reports early this morning that thought there may have been an even bigger loss. It's a miracle as many got out. RIP to those who have lost their lives xx
Guest51810
When my mum and gran were in glasgow they ended up in that area, she said there were still 5 ambulances sitting there. So I think there are people still inside, I just hope they are okay. You hear stories of people being stuck for quite a long time and they end up surviving
Guest51810
Just saw a man on the news who's been standing outside waiting for them to find his dad who was inside, so sad
Tappers2oz
Apparently it's now up to 8 who have died (including all 3 on the helicopter). It's just awful. :-(

Unfortunately it is going to take a while to get all the facts on this tragedy so no-one knows what happened or why but either way there would have likely been fatalities. I would imagine if there was anyway they could have 'landed' in the river they would have.

I was only meaning that it was unfortunate it 'landed' on a packed oub and not in the river.

WeegieDave
This sort of thing happened last year at sea didn't it? Yeah Paul. It's happened a couple of times with helicopters flying to the rigs in the North Sea.
