joe1966joe
Hi I have done my EOI and sent off the NSW state sponsorship form. Received an email from NSW saying that the have received the form and: We aim to process applications for NSW nomination within 12 weeks. Please note that this is only an estimate as the time frame can fluctuate depending on the volume of applications received. We are currently processing applications lodged on 3 October 2013. Am I still needing an invitation? or does this mean I am lodged? Thanks Joe
Adam Grey
Hi Joe, It means that NSW are processing your state sponsorship application. If they approve, you will automatically receive an invitation to apply for your 190 visa through the SkillSelect system. All the best,
joe1966joe
Thanks for the reply Adam. so this could take upto 12 weeks for me to get an invitation? or hopefully not as long as Electricians are still on the NSW SOL. Once I hopefully get an invitation, and then lodge the visa, am i able to apply for a bridging visa if needed? thanks Joe
Adam Grey
No problem. Yeah it could take up to 12 weeks, but if they're processing Oct 3 applications it would suggest 8 weeks would be a better estimate. If you're making the application from within Australia on a valid substantive visa then you will be issued with a bridging visa.
joe1966joe
oh right, at the minute I am on a 457, there are talks that my company might be closing down due to having no work which will leave me in a bad situation. I believe that you will get 90 days to find a new employer to sponsor you, if you dont find one you will have to leave? Is it 90 days from your employment termination letter or 90 days from when the immigration is informed? also if it was to happen shortly, would I still be ok to remain in Australia and wait for my invite, then lodge my visa and apply for the bridging visa as long as its all done with the 90 days? your help is much appreciated thanks joe
