zoe1066
Hello Me and my partner are considering relocating to sunny Australia with our 2 young children in the hope of making a better life. My partner has been working in the wind turbine industry for the past 4 years and is currently working as a commissioning supervisor. Could anyone give us any advice as to what the wind industry is like? Whether they are recruiting at the mo or if anyone knows of any companies that offer sponsorship? Also any advice on areas to live would be great... Thank you in advance
nic1171
Have you checked to see if the job is on the SOL of CSOL? Maybe check out Seek.com.au for jobs advertised

Because looking for an employer sponsor is not what most people would do (as it is very hard!).
zoe1066
Thank you both for your replies...we are in very early stages so haven't fully looked into everything yet just after all the advice we can get.I will check the sol list. Have briefly looked into migration options lots to look into and think about, thanks again

Have briefly looked into migration options lots to look into and think about, thanks again OK, so have a read about skilled migration and don't just look at the SOL, you need to look at the CSOL too. Looking for an employer sponsor, for most people should be one of the later strategies to be used if the easier strategies have been eliminated as options. zoe1066
I have looked on both lists and his job is on the csol list. Am I right in thinking that we then have to look into the state lists? I have also come across a couple of websites who do seminars in London offering information for emigrating has anybody ever been to any of these? Just wondering if they maybe helpful as I'm getting very confused by the whole thing lol, thanks in advance xx
blossom
Yes, if on the csol you need either state sponsorship or an employer to sponsor. From what I have heard about the seminars they are useless.
Britpop
We were just near Mount Gambier chatting to a guy in the wind turbine industry, he travelled extensively with it and he seemed to be very busy! I don't know anything about it but it may be worth a google Mount gambier + wind to see an idea of what they did there as I know there are many in that area. ( I just did a quick google and got this link, may be interesting re the whole carbon tax thing http://www.windpowermonthly.com/article/1211961/analysis-wind-industry-calm-new-australian-government)
