jen140977 Posted September 1, 2013 Share Posted September 1, 2013 Hi all, looking at shipping costs, keeping things to very minimal however would really like to take 1x kids bunk beds with 2 matresses, anyone recommendations? or are bunkbeds cheap enough in Oz. Johndoe Posted September 1, 2013 Share Posted September 1, 2013 Dunno how prices compare with the Uk but one thing you must be aware of.......................many bedrooms here carry ceiling fans and there have been some nasty incidents, so take care when siting the beds. calNgary Posted September 12, 2013 Share Posted September 12, 2013 New, you can get the steel ones for just over $200 without mattresses, second hand anything from $50 upwards. We can't have them here as the bedrooms are tiny, the ceilings are too low and the fans would be too close, its the same with some cabin beds too unfortunately. MovingtoTasmania Posted September 12, 2013 Share Posted September 12, 2013 A double bed in Aus is approx 137 cm x 187 cm as compared to UK size approx 135 cm x 190 cm. A flat double sheet from UK should fit an Aus bed, but a fitted sheet won't and the same for mattresses. Also be aware that a king size bed in Aus equates to a Superking bed in UK (measurements are 183 x 203 and 180 x 200 respectively). A queen bed in Aus is 153 x 203 and a UK king is 150 x 200 so again, flat sheets "should" be ok. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
