me1
Just a quick question if anyone can advise, myself partner and 3 kids are going for a 190 visa and are at the EOI application stage weve paid our $200 and submitted the app, but.......they've come back with a heads up about needing $35k per couple and $5k per child in funding for the move. We now have a 28day period to submit a figure around this mark before the application goes to the state for sponsorship ahhhhhhh we've got substantial savings but no where near 50 odd grand! well be more like $20k by the time we move maybe next yr depending and have been told by friends who live in Perth that will be more than enough to survive the 1st couple of mths as were staying with friends etc. Are these funds legal requirements? How much did anyone reading this say they had at a minimum for acceptance of state sponsorship? Any help would be greatly appreciated as we too have no agent and are doing it ourselves. Many thanks x mel x

Many thanks x mel x Hi I am currently in Melbourne on a 190 which was granted in December (2012). The Victoria website has a table where it tells you how much you need to have depending on how many dependants etc. Your funds can be in savings and posessions, eg jewellery, house. car, TVs etc! You put a figure on the form that obvioulsy needs to be in line with their recommendation. We were never asked to prove our money nor provide bank statements or anything like that and from what I heard at the time nobody else got asked to prove it for a 190. Don't forget the figure they give is on dollars! Hope this helps
coastie
Most people use money from the sale of their house. Do you have a house to sell?
