ali
Singapore airlines have an excellent reputation, but if you're coming out on a WHV you'll probably want to save some cash ... so have a look at some of the cheaper options. My friend recently flew with Malaysia and said they were very good
lebourvellec
Try STA travel - they do round the world deals if you are looking to go to any other countries on your way there or back.
Rupert
Go to (or call) a travel agent and get them to do the legwork looking for the best deals. I always used Trailfinders in the UK.
nikkitee
we recently got a brill deal with singapore, only slightly more expensive than other airlines such as malaysian or china eastern and according to reviews better quality than those two
Guest littlesarah
If you're under 26, you can sometimes get 'youth' fares, which are similar deals to those offered for students. STA is good for having info on those types of offers. Malaysian airlines are, in my experience, very good. To be honest, I've had very few bad longhaul flights; and one bad flight doesn't really mean that all flights are bad, just that one flight was less than great. Chinese airlines tend to come in cheaper than other airlines, but are not necessarily ranked as highly by air travel ratings. On-time performance can be a bit sketchy in China, I believe. Though I've never flown with a Chinese airline so I cannot speak from personal experience.
