jamesnparry
Hello We fly into Brisbane at 23.35hrs. Need to find a value for money hotel for what will be left of the night, before returning to the airport in the morning to pick up the hire car. Is the old formulae 1 now IBIS our only option? Have searched extensively so have given up on finding a shuttle service at that time of night. Don't fancy the taxi fares into the city. Aren't there anymore hotels around the airport? Cheers in advance.
Guest GeorgeD
That Formule 1 hotel was the first one that sprung to my mind. There is a Novotel not a million miles away at the DFO shopping place. Probably a bit more expensive and slightly further away (a few more mins in a taxi than the F1, now IBIS)
Alaska
Have you already booked the hire car? The reason I ask is that they often add fees on so it might work out cheaper to get a taxi downtown and pick up the hire car from there.
jamesnparry
Hire car is being paid for by employer. Novotel mega expensive. £187 as opposed to £95 for Ibis. Really want one in the middle of these two. Think we'll have to take a deep breath and go with the Ibis... reviews on it are bad though..... Hoped that there was a 'premier inn' type option. Comparing to the UK already and I haven't even arrived yet!!!
MicheleW
Check out the motels around Hamilton/Ascot on Kingsford Smith Drive or Nudgee Road. Most of them will have a shuttle and they may pick you up that late and drop you back at the airport the next morning. Good luck
Que Sera Sera
Is it too far for you to just drive straight to your rental? I know its late but at least you will be able to crash properly and not get disturbed by others and planes. When we fell into our holiday rental we slept for over 12 hours the kids 14! jamesnparry
Rental is in Maroochydore. But need to be in Brisbane the following morning to validate my nursing registration at the Brissy office. Hence the overnight stay.
