gwolst77
Hi I land in Melbourne in three weeks time. I was just wondering how much it would cost in a taxi from the airport to the docklands area (staying right next door to the Etihad stadium)? Â Also how long (very rough ball park figure) does it take to clear customs etc when you land in Melbourne? Are they fast processing you through or is it quite time consuming? Guest The Pom Queen
Ok to get in the city using a taxi check the fare here http://www.transport.vic.gov.au/taxis/customers/taxi-fare-estimator Also look at sky bus http://www.skybus.com.au  In regards to customs I have picked numerous families up, some are out within 40 mins some it can take 2 hours, I usually say an hour. getSunshine
You can also try out Starbus if you want a little more personalized service. I had good expience with them. http://www.starbus.net.au/
JoandJon
If you're staying right near Etihad stadium then it's practically next door to where the Skybus stops.... Southern Cross station - Etihad - Skybus all in the same spot
starlight7
I was going to say , for taxi fares, think of a number then double it. Very ,very expensive, a complete rip off and many of them don't know where they are or where you wish to go to, either. That's if they can speak English in the first place! We went to Melbourne the weekend just gone and caught the Skybus from & to the airport. It's $17 one way (or $28 return but doesn't sound like you need it). Our hotel was on Spencer St, less than 5 mins walk from Etihad Stadium & Southern Cross Station (where the Skybus terminates) so it was super convenient. Takes 20 mins from Terminal 1 (Qantas, Jetstar) and an extra 5 mins from Terminal 3.
