  1. I would like to know more about the values of India and China that you are mentioning in your post. From what I read, the problems in Europe are not due to Chinese or Indians. Look at the ethnic profiles of Chinese and Indians in US and I can only see a highly educated and rich minority contributing to US economy.China and India have been lifting their people out of poverty in unheard of rates for the past 2 decades without the aid of colonialism.
  2. I'm not sure if this would help, but I looked into this website to see how they are ranked. http://bettereducation.com.au/school/Primary/vic/vic_top_primary_schools.aspx
  3. That was my initial impression. But curiosity got better of me and I just asked the meaning.
  4. Pardon my ignorance. But what's PB?
  5. Some of the posts do look so!
  6. I'm from India and here only for a year and wanted to post a comment on this topic, but I was busy earning money, making Aussie friends, drinking water from the tap without any worry, breathing clean air, happy at the kindness that my daughter's class teacher shows towards my daughter and my wife being able to study Masters for career change at a UNI in worlds top 25 and people giving their seat up for my wife and kid in public transport and other numerous things. Common guys, we can't judge a nation by action of a few.
  7. I found this site sometime back where it lists vegetarian friendly shopping guide. http://www.veganeasy.org/VIC-vegan-shopping-guide
  8. Go Suited and if that's not possible, at-least wear a tie. Try to be as formal as possible. I had interviews few months back and all the candidates were suited.
  9. I completely agree with the previous post. There are practice tests with answers from the Cambridge publications itself ( link->http://www.cambridge.org/au/elt/catalogue/subject/project/item6598579/Cambridge-IELTS-8). If you do a few practice tests which would include the academic too ( academic reading is more difficult that General, in my humble opinion), these will help you get a good score.
  10. I brought a Garmin NUVI 2455LM with red light and speed camera warning with life time free updates. The GARMIN GPS is really good and reception even in underground parking is really great. And if you miss any turn, it recalculates pretty fast. Hope this helps.
  11. I'm a caramel colored Non Caucasian and in Australia for some time after moving from US. The laws in Australia are the same for everyone as with other liberal democracies. Australia ( or its government ) can't do anything if few of its citizens hold racist views, But if they try to harm anyone, then the law takes its own course. I've been treated well and never had any issues during my stay. But abusing tourists will lead to economic loss as Japanese are big spenders and they might move to what they perceive to be a more friendly places in Europe or USA. I think Australia is scrutinized more in these kind of issues due to its past, but these problems are not unique to Australia alone.
  12. http://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/destinations/dispatches/2013/03/20/india-tourism-safety-rapes/2002491/ While I don't defend what's happening in India,And feel that the global scrutiny will do it good and make it emerge better and stronger as a liberal democracy ( its still world's largest democracy) as it should be. But just looking at the negatives alone doesn't do any good and leads to believe that its more of witch hunt against India than an attempt to find out the truth about a complex country with enormous diversity.
  13. I did my research. For a country of 2 billion, it still compares better to other countries with regards to its treatment of women. See this report ->http://unstats.un.org/unsd/demographic/products/Worldswomen/WW2010%20Report_by%20chapter(pdf)/violence%20against%20women.pdf. Why are singling out India? Did you see this? ->http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13058300 Just as slavery, apartheid and colonialism was abolished, the discrimination on the basis on caste and religion are abolished in India and those who break the law still gets punished ( better punished than when compared to some developed countries). Why is it that west was given 100-150 years to improve its record, but India is not? Is Tibet occupied by India? Again, subcontinent is not ruled by India and they are independent countries which India has no control over.
