Medicals results "referred" - how long till you heard something after this?

Hello everyone

We went for my daughters medicals on 21st June and I checked the Immigration website and it changed on the 23rd June to the following "further medical results referred".

Does anyone know when we might hear something back?

The waiting around is so hard - I even know my passport number back to front i've typed it in so many times!

Are you expecting a problem? I know ours came back as referred but I had provided them with a huge file, with reports etc, they never contacted me and they changed it to met. If I got in anyone can so please try not to worry too much

I remember now, did you take in a letter from her consultant etc, if not they are probably going to ask for more info. I know some people try and get everything together whilst they are waiting for a reply. It's a long while since we moved over so things have changed. Hold in there though as I'm sure everything will work out, I'm keeping my fingers and toes tightly crossed

Please let me know how you go on.

Hi

Yes I took a letter from her pedetrician stating what her condition is, the medication she is on and how well she has been getting on etc and that fact she does not need to be seen by a cardiologist for at least 12 months. The doctor at the medical didn't seem entirely happy with it though and thought we might get asked for more information.

I then spoke to my daughters cardiologist and he isn't sure what else we could of provided in terms of information though? Such a minefield!

Very frustrating!

Just to update - I have now checked the immigration website (exactly 1 week after the medical) and it has asked me to complete another health questionnaire that has led to a page saying -

In order to complete your visa application, you are required to undertake the following:

125 - Report - from a Specialist

Has anyone any experience of what this involves? It gave me the option of doing it at the bridgewater hopsital again in Manchester.

I rang them but they had shut for the day so will call in the morning.

I'd agree with JoandJon best to get a report from someone who knows her, would probably be a more favourable (and cheaper) report.

After a week of my status saying 'medicals been referred' it now says 'sent an email to you' must mean to our agent because we have not received one. We are thinking (and hoping) its asking them about our medical cover ect. That was 2 days ago and still not heard anything. Im at the edge of my tether honestly

Hi Everyone just an update - I contacted the clinic in Manchester and the Panel Doctor there wrote to Zara's specialist and has now emailed the Health Officer in Sydney. Not sure if anyone has any experience of this but any idea why nothing on the system has changed and also how long is a piece of string question - how long is it sat with a Health officer before we hear anything? I'm slowly but surely going mad with all the waiting around. If I checked the immigration system one more time I think it will keel over! xx

Ours were referred and then finalised after 3 working days. Some experienced agonising months of waiting for their medicals to be finalised. So I don't think there is a certain time frame out there. However, when it takes time, it doesn't mean that you have any problem.

Hi poochibabes

Have you heard any more ?

I today, checked my online status, and it says, medicals and blood tests 'referred'..... i dont know why ???? and like you worried sick

The doctors in london told me that if there was any problem with my xray or bloods they would contact me within 4 days. They didnt so i presumed everything was ok. Now this.

I have no idea why i have been referred and dont know whats worse..... thinking your visa will be declined or thinking theres something wrong with you ....

I'm feel sick with worry

Hope things going ok your end ?

xx

Hi Trasi - quite often people's results go to referred for a good few days before being approved. I'm sure it will just be the DIAC being slow at their end and you have nothing to worry about. If you can wait another few days I'd then send an email to your case officer for an update. Also have you tried contacting the medical centre that performed your medicals? Our's was very helpful along the way.

Sadly i've still not heard anything else but our case is alot more complex I suspect with my daughters heart condition.

When my daughters was referred it was an agonising extra 8 weeks for us! We had to get letters from consultants, GP, Oncologist, we are in oz already then DIAC came back that they wanted us to see one of their docs was so frustrating:arghh: But I kept calm & just got as much info as we could (chest xray came back with a mass on her chest) we had to have 2 biopsy done as was a scary time for all of us. When the last biopsy came back given her the all clear emailed DIAC & the medical docs & pr was granted the next day a big relief for us! But this did take a while to sort us I just kept emailing our CO who happened to be a DR himself!

Hi

I am waiting for my medicals from 30.06 and untill now they are still referred. My CO told me to have patience and the medical center told me that the papers arrived and await assessment.

I feel very bad and worried :(

Hi to everyone waiting for referred medicals. I spoke to Global Health this morning and was told that they are still processing end of June. Ours referred 4/7 and she said it would be another 2 weeks. I think sometimes they pick a date out of thin air, as others have said whenspeaking to Global that they're processing 5-6 July and 9 july. So will have to continue to wait.:frown:

Hi all, I was referred on 10th August so think I'm in for at least a 4 week wait. Rest of the family are all finalised! So frustrating! Lol
