We enjoy water sports and Snow sports Would like to know if there are any indoor snow sport centres in Oz especially in Queensland or NSW - something like the Xscapes we have in the uk. Quoll Posted December 8, 2007 Share Posted December 8, 2007 We actually have a thriving snow industry here - the snowfields down at Thredbo (southern NSW) are pretty good and we have had some top level skiers and boarders develop their skills there. They keep on muttering about how global warming will see the end of the snowfields but last season, I believe, was yet another good season! hope2 Posted December 9, 2007 Share Posted December 9, 2007 Hi there Yes, it's true...we went to Thredbo a couple of years ago and there are plenty of snow sports going on there in season. We went in the summer and there was a tiny bit if snow left on top of Mount kosciusko (highest point in Oz). They do lots of mountain biking there in the summer - winter for the snow sports. Having said that the day after we walked Kosciusko there was a freak snow storm and broke all the weather records! Snow everywhere! That was January and that's definately not normal. So plenty of snow sports going on there in the right season (and sometimes not due to global warming!!) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
