Great news about case officer - We too had news we have case officer on 15th - similar timeline besides ours is non DRC. I'm feeling a little deflated over it all if i'm honest. I think now the christmas holiday period is drawing in I know if we dont hear Thursday or Friday that its going to be january and that will be the possibiity of us having to re submitt PCC's and Medicals as we had it all last december in the hope to submit january but it was delayed until may. It more expense(family of 6) and delays it further. Fingers crossed for us all that good news comes soon.

My mums nomination took 5 months at parra -then she submitted the application after and it too just 4 weeks for the applicaton to be approved by DRC through an agent We have submit our nomination and application together and its 7 months friday - We have a case officer but still awaiting contact from them. Ours wasnt a DRC - to be honest with the amount of applications they have its hard to see a sequence with the apps. Everyone is different and has different circumstances too. I just hope we all have good news to post soon, whether that be a nomination approval or application too. Lets hope 2012 brings us all good news.

Cost of giving birth in Oz?!

I came out on a 457 3 years ago and after arriving a fair few weeks later found I was pregnant, like other said we paid for the first scan then all other scans for us were at teh hospital due to baby health concerns - we had weekly scans and even an mri on bub while inside me and all was covered on my reciprocal medicare card. I have sicnce had a 2nd child and was lucky to be selected for the Birth centre at Royal womens hospital at brisbane. I had a water birth and a fantastic team of midwives. All again on the medicare cover. I went to a bulk billing scanning centre this time so medicare again covered the scans. With the first baby complications during pregnancy i'm very grateful that medicare was available to me I worried so bad when i first found i was pregnant being on the 457 knowing what i wasnt entitled to etc i didnt think for a second they would cover having a baby until i looked more into it. Congratulations on your pregnancy and good luck with it all Edit: first bub born 100% healthy even after all the worrying cocerns off docs and numerous scans we had - keep you on your toes thats for sure

No not heard from case officer yet. We emailed monday after the date moved on for parra to june 6 - last week it was 27 may. So as per their email if a week has elapsed since the processing date and you are before this date then contact them to chase it. We had a reply today confirming our appliction is with a CO and he will contact in due course. Please we are finally moving - just nervous for the outcome naturally.

Age exception, anyone applied for it and did you get it?

Hi My mum got her ENS 856 approved in August this year. her employer submit the nomination in November 2010 and that was approved in march 2011 - she waited on the outcome of that before submitting her application. She then prepared it and used a migration agent and submit in July 2011. It took exactly 4 weeks to be approved. You could possibly submit the application with a cover letter explaining that you are awaiting the TRA result. My mum is 53 Good luck
