  1. Hi all, anyone from City of Gold Coast council waiting for the invitation letter? How long have you been waiting? I read online 65% of the applicants are invited within 3 months. That is my timeline: Application submitted: 31/8/2022 Test passed: 16/11/2022 Application approved: 02/12/2022 Waiting on the invitation letter. Do you guys have the dates for citizenship ceremonies on the Gold Coast for 2023? Thank you so much in advance.
  2. 6) My parents have not been outside europe for many years therefore never been in Australia so they do not have a passport. I didn't put any passport details on the application. Is it fine for the immigration or my parents must have their passport?
  3. Hi community, I have finally started my citizenship application after meeting the eligibility criteria. I have a few questions, if someone could please shed a light, would be so much appreciated! 1) my overseas national identity card has expired and I haven't been back to renew it, but I still put it in the application when they asked me. Would that be a problem if it is expired, do you suggest me to put it o to leave it blank? 2) if you remember on the first page of the online application they ask if I have been in and out Australia since 1990 and obviously I have, and the following question is if I know my "previous application details"? do they mean my PR application? I put my PR TRN in that case (let me know if this is correct please) 3) the immigration said we must bring original documents to the appointment. In the case of my original birth certificate the original is in the council registry of my hometown. Can I then bring/submit the specific birth certificate my hometown council issued for overseas purposes? (I supplied this one for my PR and obviously was enough) 4) do we need to bring the hard copy of the documents in colour? 5) the NAATI translations of some of my documents is "expired" but I still used it for my PR application back then and they accepted it before (obviously because nothing has changed on the original documents or on the translations lol). Will they accept them for the citizenship or I need to get it translated again (I think I don't need to) Thank you so much in advance guys!
  4. I quit working for my employer prior lodging the new nomination with the new company to transfer my 457, because I believed and MA told me that new nomination would come through within days if its an accredited sponsor (my new sponsor is accredited and one of the largest hospitality groups in australia), my nomination was lodged on december 4th and still no answer. If I could go back I would give the notice to my previous employer once the nomination for the new one was approved, but I didnt know at the time they could nominate me while I was still employed with them. Rookie mistake, I was scared I couldnt do it and would do something illegal, but it is not. I really hope the nomination comes through asap....
  5. At the end I was looking for advice perhaps from a chef who got granted a 186 DE before, not really trying to push the boundaries from migration agents who kindly replied to my topic.
  6. I appreciate you go beyond your abilities to help me clarify the matter.
  7. That is fair enough. I am onshore now just transferring my 457 visa to another employer.
  8. Could you please link something attainable that does not have the same generic information that we normally get? Thanks. Also how long are you seeing the nominations for 482 visa taking to be approved at the moment?
  9. I have a skill assessment with VETASSESS as a chef, which required at least 3 years full time experience (part-time and casual counted), but the migration agent I am using says for the 186 DE can count part-time employment and full-time employment (not casual employment doing full time hours); also some agents say all employment counts as long as more than 35 hours a week have been worked, and others say only post-qualification employment counts..there is too much misinformation out there, I need to see the actua; laws, regulations and policies what they say
  10. Thanks for quoting the legislation paul. To me it is fundamental to know exactly what that means, since there is lot of different information online. Knowing what that means can result in me being eligible to apply straight away or not..
  11. Hi guys, I don't know if this question has been posted before or not, but there seems to be a lot of confusion and misinformation about it, so I hope someone who applied and got granted 186 DE can answer my question. What do the "3 years full time work experience" stand for? How is it calculated? Does it count experience before qualification? Does it count part-time contract experience? Does it count casual employment but doing full time hours? If anyone has a link to the legislation please post it, really appreciate it.

  13. Hey guys, Does anyone know if we change the employer while on 457 and they are willing to take over the sponsorship if we are eligible for TRT based on the previous sponsor? I have 6 months left (to complete 3 years full time work) with my current sponsor, if i get nominated by another sponsor will I be eligible to apply for TRT in 6 months with them still?
  14. I submitted an EOI with 85 points a month ago also. I think direct entry would be the best option for me right now, since I still have to work 7 months before being eligible for TRT. I know the wait time is very long and chefs have been waiting for too long..
