Hi there, we are moving to Mullaloo in Western Australia next year. My partner is a HGV driver here in the UK and has been for over 20 years. From the information we have been able to gather, which is limited, we think he will not be able to transfer his HGV licence straight over and will need to resit the tests (very onoying!) From what we can make out the equivalant of an HGV licence over there is an HC licence but we are reading that you need to have held a HR licence for a year before you can move up to your HC licence which is pretty crap! So anyone else out there had any experience of this and could offer any advice it would be really appreciated, or anyone know a good driver recruitment company in that area? Thankyou

Think im freaking out a bit as i applied so early thinking it would take at least 14 months for approval as stated on the website and then we would have another year from then. It took 3 weeks to get approved so its just brought everything forward and im not very prepared for that!

I guess i had in my mind that it would be the following year so maybe an extension of a few months is possible to move in January before the school year starts in Perth

Hi Joe, where have you got this information? do you have a link? My partner got his visa yesterday and our kids granted citizenship but we have to travel by 8th November which is looking too costly and we wouldnt want to quaranteen so wondering if we can delay that date?

We applied 14th October. Medical was 26th October, police checks around the same time. So shocked to get it all back today. Fingers crossed yours is quick too, you sound a bit more ready than I am!

Yes it’s all very scary, I figured it would take a lot longer! Do you know if you can extend that entry date? December/January may work but November would be hard even for a holiday

Applied 14th October, London, Full 100 visa granted today 8th November! Was not expecting that kind of turn around, can anyone advise me please... The visa says For first entry arrive by 08 November 2022 Must not arrive after 08 November 2026 Slightly confused by this. Do we have to go before 8 nov 2022? What if we are not ready then, its only a year away ahhhh

Thanks, Im not concerned that it wont be approved, our kids have just been granted citizenship, only took 3 weeks. Ive submitted the application and uploaded all the documents i had. Same day ive received a message to book the medical which i am doing now. Question - Do i need to apply for UK police clearance now along with filling out Form80 (Personal particulars for assessment including character assessment) I think i missed this before on the list of requirements, not sure if you have to submit this or wait to see if you are asked for it? Form 80 ask heaps of the same questions i have already answered in the online application! Seems unnecessary!

Ok great thanks for the reply’s everyone, I’ve made a huge effort today to ensure I have everything I need. I actually have a ton of evidence dating back 13 years so have documented it all in order and ready to upload. I will wait for the 888 forms to come back first. I was just a bit unsure as I have already done this 20 years ago for a previous partner but it was all done by snail mail so slightly different uploading it all online.

I apologise if these questions been asked, When applying for the partner visa online do i have to submit the application and pay before i can upload any documents? I cannot locate anywhere to add anything. The form asked me for the details of 2 people who can write a reference confirming our relationship. Do i get them to fill in form 888, have this witnessed along with a copy of their passport and then give me the documents to scan and submit or will Immi contact them to get the references. If i have to submit them should i wait till i have them back and then submit the application or can i submit them at a later date. Does the sponsor need to fill a form in? Sorry, dont want to do it all wrong seeing as its asking for so much money!

Congratulations, so do they sometimes grant the 100 visa straight away? I thought you were given the 309 and then given the 100 after 2 years?

Thanks for your reply, yes i did have a TFN but have no record of it. I have just applied for my movemnet records do you think i could just submit that to prove that i was in the country?

I am an Australian citizen by descent and living in the UK. I am trying to apply for citizenship by descent for my children under 10 years old. They are asking me for this: Documents about residency in Australia If your parent became an Australian citizen by descent or by adoption, provide evidence that they have spent 2 years lawfully in Australia, such as: school records employment records any documents issued by an Australian government agency If you do not have any evidence of your parent having resided in Australia you can contact the National Archives of Australia. You will not need to give us this if you have always been stateless. I did not go to school in Australia, although i lived there for a number of years I have no other records or documents for any of this time. I have had a look of the National archives but have no idea what to look for on there. Also second question, as i have 2 children it appeared to me that i would be applyi ng for them both on the same application as you get a discount for the second child but the application has just asked for names of any siblings and no further details. Do i need to start a new application for my second child. Oh and third question, my partner (a uk citizen) needs to apply for the partner visa, are we best to wait until we have the citizenship for or children before applying for his visa or can we do them all at the same time. Any advice would be welcome
