    Please can someone give me advise: PR granted today .. Been in Aus exactly 3 years. I can apply for citizenship this time next year, then it takes approximately 2 to 3 years for ceremony. Is that correct? If so, can I leave aus after application for citizenship? I need to go back to UK for 6 months to a year. Is that something immigration won't like? Many thanks

    Hey guys, Do you think this would affect already submitted PR applications (link below) or just restrict new ones? Fingers crossed its the latter! I hope they see sense and release we bring economic stimulation to the table. During a recession, cutting spending and immigration furthers a recession and creates austerity - which has been proven time and time again not to work.     Finally received RFI from immigration, asking if I'm still working and if the business still has a genuine need for me. Don't know how to update my signature.... 186 DE Nom and application apply 20th Dec On 457 now Onshore me +1 Civil Engineer

    Wow that's fast... @Madalena Ribeiro what visa are you currently on and when does it expire? I'm wondering if that's speeded up your application. I'm also an onshore Civil Engineer, application submitted 20th December and haven't heard anything at all.

    @Jammy when did you apply and what was the s56 for? Anyway all the best mate and hopfuly your'll have a response soon, perhaps in the new tax year. It's always slow visa wise between June and August.

    @Jammy congrats, when did you submit 186 DE nomination? I see your nomination has been approved. 186 DE has a much faster proccessing time and of your company monies are strong - I would stick with your current application. Staying that, I submitted my application and nomination 20th Dec and still no response. I'm a professional Civil Engineer, my industry has a huge shortage of skilled people and gov investment in infrastructure is only growing, especially after COVID. So you would think my application would be approved quickly....
