  1. Yes it's interesting, I just saw another table like the one I just posted but from January 2019. For all the CPVs the queue assessment dates were exactly the same as the visa assessment dates. Doesn't look like they were carrying out queue assessments at that point.
  2. Queue Assessment for the 143/864 and 173/884 always used to say N/A in the Auto Response email up until as recently as 7th October 2019! I wonder if it was something new introduced to filter out applicants who have no chance of ever being succesful. However, we may never find out!
  3. Might not do any good but went to the web page https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-processing-times/family-visa-processing-priorities/parent-visas-queue-release-dates# Where is states "However, based on current planning levels, we estimate new Contributory Parent visa applications lodged that meet the criteria to be queued are likely to take approximately at least 58 months to be released for final processing. At the bottom of the page clicked on "Tell us what you think of this page" (or "Feedback" both options do the same thing). Selected 1 star, selected "Content" and amongst other things said how they are misleading people and taking money from them when they may not even live long enough to be processed. 60,000 queued at 4,500 pa at the moment seems more like 13-14 years to me. I've already said my piece, won't make any difference to me but made me feel better If enough people do this maybe it will help others in the future.
  4. I could be wrong but I seem to remember someone posting on here that you can enter on separate dates but the main applicant must enter first. Not sure how accurate this is though.
  5. Hi @vimaus5 the problem for many people on here is that the immi website only tells you how long it's taken for someone to be processed who has just had their visa granted today. It doesn't tell you how many people are currently in the queue which is of no use to anyone. As you can see by my signature we were told 12-18 months when we applied but later found out there was already 28,000 applications ahead of us. The annual cap was just over 7,000 per year at the time which has since reduced to 6075. We are not expecting to here anything until around the end of this year. Unfortunately many applicants only find out the truth when they come across forums like this one and after they've paid the intial fees. Because there are more and more applications each year the wait just gets longer and longer all the time. As of now I reckon there must be at least around 45,000 queuing, with the current cap annual of 6,075 that's 6-7 years.
  6. We paid a similar amount to @Rosiejaq around £1,000 here in the UK. If you use an agent only use a MARA immigration agent. You can search for one on the govenrment website using the link below but at the moment the web page seems to be broken and doesn't return any results. Avoid imigration lawyers unless you specically need one as they will charge you a small fortune. https://www.mara.gov.au/search-the-register-of-migration-agents/
  7. We used a UK based MIRA agent for our 143 and don't remember the charges being that high.
  8. Could be an expensive trip for some heading to QLD in the near future. https://7news.com.au/sunrise/on-the-show/coronavirus-australia-queensland-to-make-international-arrivals-pay-for-hotel-quarantine-c-1108249
  9. Hi Linda I put my date of 7 July 2016 in and it says there are 7250 in front of me! However, using the other data from immi (in the reports which I've uploaded here on occasions) if I calculate backwards from the 7 July 2016 I have to go as far back as October 2015 to get the same number! We can all see that others on this forum with application dates of for the first quarter of 2016 have already been granted. I've included the 173's and also taken into account that the 864's and 884's up to Jan 2017 have already been processed. Maybe I'm missing something or perhaps it's like most of the CPV queue information immi publish you can't rely on.
  10. As of March this year there were at least 39,000 CPV applications (lodged up to April 2019) which had still not even begun to be processed. Based on the current annual cap of 6,096 that equates to just under 6.5 years. Then you need to add the number applications lodged between May 2019 up to April 2020 when you applied (which I don't have any figures for). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I would guess your parents possibly have around 7.5 years to wait before they even begin to start being processed. Of course this assumes the annual cap remains at 6,096 and that immi actually manage to process/grant that number each year. Good luck
  11. Not sure if anyone else has seen this. It was in the text of the auto response email received from WAParents today. IMPORTANT NOTE Finalisation of many Parent Visa applications will be put on hold for a period of approximately two months. The situation will be reviewed in late May 2020, and further extension/s will be provided if necessary.
  12. I'm not sure how immi count those, always wondered about that myself. Don't forget these are the number of applications which will differ slightly from the numbers granted. There aren't actually that many 173's included in those figures anyway. Out of the 39,559 total shown at the end of that report only 2,097 are 173's (5.25%)
  13. It's really no trouble at all. I extracted the data and designed the report template a while back. Now I just have to tick a box or two, enter a couple of dates and the result pops up on the screen within seconds. As you say it's a shame immi don't publish the queue data, they could easily do it.
  14. Hi SusieRoo This a snapshot of some of the 173 applications separated out from the 143/173 combined report I posted. Seems strange that youv'e not heard anything yet. But I suppose you would only hear of other 173ers if they were English speaking and on this forum. Been a bit quiet for 143's too lately. Also I've noticed in the past with 143's that some are processed weeks out of application date sequence. More wine is good! 173 Applications 2016 Month Cumulative. Mar 121 121 Apr 109 230 May 115 345 Jun 181 526 Aug 77 666 Sep 95 761 Oct 110 871 Nov 116 987 Dec 74 1,061 2017 Jan 67 1,128 Feb 66 1,194 Mar 92 1,286 Apr 53 1,339 May 96 1,435
  15. Could it be that the 5600 is the number of visas granted rather than the number of applications processed. Just trying to be optimistic for you!
  16. Just updated this report so all the poor soles waiting in the queue can see where they stand. The criteria assumes everyone with an application up to and including April 2016 has had a request for further docs. The original source of this data (link in the report) was from a freedom of information request someone submitted. It only covers applications up to the end of April 2019. If anyone can find a more recent similar document at any point please let me know. I will be more than happy to include that data and continue to post updates here after my own visa has been granted. Based on a quota of around 6000 visas per year you can foecast approximately when you might be contacted for further docs. Providing of course the quota doesn't change and processing doesn't pause for any reason! CPV Lodged Date Report as of 06 March 2020.pdf
  17. Very frustrating, I know the site can be flakey but it may be worth trying a different browser. Some of those can also cause problems. Good luck.
  18. Yes I' noticed that. We used a MARA agent and who said sometimes the applications get processed outside of Australia. The agent had one visa recently processed by the Australian embassy in Dubai. Maybe this is why they're not be processed in exact date order. Who knows!
  19. Hi Linda, if I had lodged around the same time as you and circumstances allowed it, I would have applied for the new 5 year visa, sold up lock stock and barrel and just gone. Assuming they have almost finished requesting further info for March 2016 applicants, there are just over 20,000 143 parent visa applications between the 1st April 2016 and your lodgement date in the queue. I admire you If you can stick it out but I don't think I could deal with that. Life is too short and getting shorter, I don't think any of us can really afford this amount of time for life to be on hold. Good luck!
  20. Last 143 applicant I know of to be asked for further information was Falangela100 on Saturday 18th Jan. They applied 6th April 2016.
  21. Hi Christa not sure how much you personally have to pay but we were able to increase our BPAY limit to $100k in preparation. We chose to go into the bank (commbank) to do it while on holiday there last year. Not 100% sure but I seem to remember the person at bank saying we could increase the BPAY limit ourselves online! I believe $100k is the limit for none business accounts. I think you may also be able go into the branch in Australia to make the payment from your account over the counter. We have also done this at a commbank branch as the max total daily payment/transfer you can do for yourself is $20k. Hope this helps.
  22. Hi Bridgie, click on your name at the top of the page when logged in and select "Account Settings" from the drop down menu. You should then see another menu on the left where you can select "Signature".
  23. I've seen other members on the forum say that they got a text message in advance from AOS advising they will get a call and to make sure you answer. Not sure how far in advance you get the text though.
