Parent visa application timelines (143 & 173)
AlwaysVet replied to theballies's topic in Family / Partner Visas
We are oversea. It depends again on the situation at the time our visa granted. If it is safe to travel we'll enter Australia. We will have about 1 year to enter Australia. I don't have any clue for ones living onshore. With the travel restrictions and they have to be offshore to have their visa granted. It will be a lot more difficult for them. PVC should have a solution for this.- 3,180 replies

I hope that they decide to allow 1 year for you in such situations that we should not travel.

Things are getting tougher. Just heard from ABC and 7news that Australians are told (advised) not to go oversea and the ones who are oversea arranged to get home. I don't know how much impact would be on us who are waiting or have to make a travel out and in or to enter Australia to get visa validation.

You’re so well prepared. I just start transferring. Do you know if we can pay 2VAC via BPay in 2 transactions? My son has an account with the limit of 50,000. I understand that paying via BPay can save cost.

Thank you. Yes, I didn't expect that quick response, but it just happened. Have you forwarded a copy of AoS acceptance letter to PVC team? They say that would fasten the process up. I'm sure you will get yours soon.- 3,180 replies

I've just got a message that our AoS has been accepted since 2/3. What a relief! Our application process is a bit slow, but at least, has made another step.- 3,180 replies

@dj cat 5 Just my 2 cents. There might be something to do with sponsoring the parent partner when one parent's got the 143 visa. Later on, the other parent may change her mind to come to Australia and the 143 visa holder may have limited ability to sponsor her for a partner category visa. So I guess there is no issue your father-in-law coming alone as far as he knows the consequence.

My son just did it for us, not so sure how he uploaded it. He did speak to Centrelink and been informed that they've had everything they needed and they just advised to wait. Who knows how long it gonna take. We will wait. Thanks again for your advice.- 3,180 replies

I may not be able to answer all of your questions but would like to share some info. 1. We sent form 47PA when applied, not form80 2. Mine PPC took about 1 month. However, I would concentrate on AoS in which may take even longer. You may take a chance to have PCC beforehand as far as it is not expired when they require it.- 3,180 replies
