  1. So I think we’ve decided he could do 7pm - midnight Sydney time, which would be 8am - 1pm UK time. And do that for 4 nights a week. A night off and then an early morning shift to catch the end of day in the U.K. and do what you do... just emails and live chat or video calls. Plus he can collect the kids after school too [emoji1377]!
  2. It would be his only job. I'm just concerned about long term night shift work, but like you said, millions of people do it and do it well! I think we'll just have to play around with the hours and find what works for everyone, hopefully without my husband sleeping through every sunny day!
  3. My husband runs a good business in the creative industries in London and we're hoping that when we get granted his PR, he can continue to withdraw an income from his business by working 3 or 4 Australian nights, which would mean he was remotely 'present' for UK business days. We are interested to know if anyone has similar experiences to working for a UK business but living in Australia and how you've made this work for you, especially if you have young kids too. Thanks!
  4. We uploaded all the documents required a few days after we submitted and paid for the application. Like Jon the Hat said, get as much as you can uploaded straightaway. That said, we’ve uploaded a few extra bits since our initial application last October like an End of Year Mortgage statement that came through or new evidence of joint travel. No idea on the WHV though. Good luck!
  5. It was all part of the same single application.
  6. Thank you. As the Sponsor, I was required to do police checks as I’m taking my kids with me and my police check will have been lodged months earlier than my partners. But Applicnants police check date makes way more sense!
  7. Do you know if this is the Sponsors or Applicant (Partner’s) Medical / Police check?
  8. Thanks for this @Waitingaround I have just completed my AFP and it's as straightforward as the UK one... I just hope it comes through within the 28 days. I'm presuming it gets posted?
  9. I responded today - I had an auto email back saying they had my email but it also said if you don't quote your name / DOB / Ref, they'll delete your email without even reading it. Imagine if the Embassy had a Live Chat feature - that would help me no end!
  10. Well, that's what I figured too. I've rechecked my Sponsor application and it's clear I've never lived in Australia (or anywhere else!). Hoping my CO will respond and enlighten me...
  11. Hello, so I've just had a RFI this morning (maybe things are picking up again?!) and along with my husbands medical and police check, they've listed an Australian Federal Police Check under my name, but given I've never lived in Australia other than for the odd 2-3 week holidays, do I just ignore this? I'm have Citizenship by Descent so have only ever lived in the UK. I have emailed the CO back, so hoping they actually reply... As a Sponsor, do I complete a medical examination too? Sorry for all the questions
  12. Out of complete curiosity - For those that went onshore on another visa to await the outcome of their 309/100, how could you be sure that the 309/100 visa would be granted? We’d ideally like to be in Australia for January 2020 as it suits us time wise, but I’d be [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51][emoji51] hauling the family out there on another visa to find that the 309/100 visa got denied for some technical reason and we’d have to ship back to the U.K. Is it just a confident gamble you need to be willing to take?
  13. @CEP Oh crikey! My husband's one is way more basic than mine and we were born months apart. I think we're due an upgrade!
  14. Reading all these posts makes me certain I've probably uploaded something wrong or my 80's birth certificate isn't considered 'official' anymore... aaaggghhh!! *bangs head against the desk* @clairechesh We did all the paperwork ourselves and it was a massive undertaking but I don't regret (yet) not using an agent. We set up a shared Google Drive so my husband and I could both upload documents and file them in one place. Then used https://smallpdf.com (so worth getting the pro version!) to squash and or merge documents together so we didn't 'waste' any of the 100 document upload quota. Like @CEP said, Facebook and Instagram are great resources for screen grabbing time stamped shots where you and your partner have been tagged, especially with other friends.
  15. My husband and I were bunking off work in a wine bar and dreaming about all things Australian Visa related! That and checking our Immi account. Again.
  16. I’m so pleased for you! I’ve been watching this thread for a while and have been so inspired by your endless upbeat optimism throughout this whole process - even when people who applied later than you, had their grants come through sooner. I was in a bar in Kjngs Cross earlier and shouted ‘Yes!’ when I read your news. It’s well deserved. Enjoy your new adventure! We have applied for 309/100 (from London) on 8th October 2018. For my husband and two young kids. Radio silence since then. Can I be added to your chart[mention=269597]CEP[/mention]? We haven’t upload my husbands police checks / family medical’s yet. Hoping we’ll be asked in time...
  17. Thanks Carol! That's really good to know. I just wish we could see where we were at in the visa queue... me and the other 3657586 people all wanting the same answer. I submitted my police check when I submitted my forms as the Sponsor but as the cost was relatively low, I don't mind having to get a new one if the visa doesn't come through before it expires. Hope you have your visa and are living the good life, wherever you are
  18. Hello, I’ve had a look through the forum but can’t see anything recent that answers this question: We submitted my husband’s (and kids) 309/100 Partner Visa at the start of October 2018. Status is ‘Received’ but it does say we need to submit medical and police checks. I’ve submitted my police check as their Sponsor, but we’re not sure we want to spend £500 on Medical’s when they expire after 12m, by which point we might not even have our visa yet. Should we do them anyway and suck up the cost of potentially doing it twice or wait until we’re asked to do it? Sorry if this has been asked many times before! Thank you so much for in anticipation.
  19. Thank you for the response rammygirl. I'm an Australian Citizen by Descent. Sorry - should have mentioned that in my original post. But my kids aren't eligible for the same citizenship status as I've never lived in Australia - just visited. Yes, they have been included as applicants on my husbands Partnership Visa. I was just panicking in case I should be doing their Child Visa 101 as well as!
