  1. Hello both, there was massive lull for those who applied before summer but it seems to have sped right up in last month. You may be lucky and they get back to the 3-4 months they managed last year.
  2. Thy wanted my partner (sponsor) to prove she had British citizenship status, I don’t know why they want that. We are not applying for British citizenship, she is an Aussie sponsoring me. So they asked for long birth certificate showing her parents, which was already there. Madness
  3. Basically I just wrote a cover letter explaining both, I reattached a birth certificate that was already on there and wrote a cover letter for that. I fly in 16 days with two days in Hong Kong, hope it comes before I land or I’m going to have to spend a few quid going to NZ for a few days. Boo!
  4. Update on my application: nothing happening. Still awaiting further assessment. Very annoyed that it wasn’t solved the first time. They asked me for things I’d already added but were missing from the application. Did anyone else add the 10 years residence thing, and countries visited in the application and they asked again at assessment? Oh well, let’s hope it’s all soon. I feel for those who went through this with the agents and were refused due to the problems attaching docs. I would be so damn angry if it were me and I would be holding the agent to account.
  5. Very true, we are looking to buy in Sydney which is crazy prices at the moment. Need every penny we can get. We shall have to rent out our place for a while and rent in Sydney.
  6. Would have expected it to be quick at that point it’s two simple forms. Strange, and doesn’t bode well for me as mine was a complex request.
  7. 10 days? Damn! I was hoping for a quick turn around with mine. Did you have a lot to provide or was it straight forward?
  8. I’m lucky, we did our ourselves. My Mrs is a very experienced lawyer and I’ve just qualified so we’re pretty good with documents and evidence, but it was still a bit of a ball ache. The agent thing would have driven me to distraction. The worst part is the guessing, is it enough? Every time.
  9. It gave me a warning saying that they would process the application based on the information provided and the 28 days would no longer apply.
  10. Thanks again, I have sent the requested information. I attached the evidence to my application under sponsor attachments and added a letter explaining. Missus completed an online 40sp through a seperate immi account (letter requested this, don’t know if it’s correct) and referenced TRN. Fingers crossed its it’s all right. SB
  11. Thanks, the missus has decided to open her own immi account and do the 40sp that way. We did the single app, with both sponsor and myself on it, she’s being difficult. I have attached as houve said. Cheers for that. SB
  12. Ah, as I have never lived in Aus only visited for extended periods I never needed one. I’d assume it’s the same though. No reason there would be a difference. Quick q: when asked for more info, where did you send/upload the info? On the attachment page?
  13. I finally moved on to initial assessment today. They requested the following from me: list of addresses for last 10 years countries I have lived in for more than 12 months. (I’ve competed this already) From my partner: evidence of her British citizenship (passport is not enough, so we attached her long form birth certificate, which shows her father was born in Africa in the 50’s which was part of the British empire and he automatically got citizenship through his parents, and later became a £10 Pom). This does not seem to be enough. They also requested she completed a 40sp. So, two questions: how do I send the bloody proof to them? (I know 40sp can be attached to the application) do I attach rest as well? What do I do about the birth certificate issue? Point out that Kenya was part of the empire at that time? what a faff! SB
  14. I’m heading to Sydney, shall be staying in randwick before we look to see what we can afford. House prices are just as bad as London, though you more for the pound it seems.
